I imagined a conversation with my younger self, and sculpted this head as a gift. I wanted to convey a sense of calmness and strength, as if to say “Hold on, you’ll be ok”.
As with my other sculptures, I wanted to see how little intervention was necessary in order to imbue character and spirit into the block of stone.
