Three-day Stone Carving Workshops in York
I run enjoyable workshops teaching professional sculpting techniques in stone.
Courses are held throughout the year.
My dates are flexible - get in touch to arrange a course to suit your needs.
Class sizes are small (maximum 3 students) so you will recieve plenty of individual attention.
After three days tuition you will have picked up enough skills to continue carving on your own.
You will learn:
Tool skills, and carving techniques
How to work in three-dimensions
How to sharpen your chisels
What tools you will need, and where to buy them
Where to locate stone
How to build a work bench (banker)
How you can develop your skills further
There is no set project - I'll help you sculpt whatever idea you have in mind.
All tools and materials provided, plus copious amounts of delicious food throught the three days.

"Lucy is not only a brilliant carver and sculptor, but she has that rare ability to impart her expertise to others with skill, humour and encouragement. I thoroughly recommend her courses".
" The most enjoyable thing I have done in years! With an office-based job with long hours, it was fantastic to be able to do something creative.... It is surprising what's possible to achieve with no previous experience. I can't wait to do a follow-up".
"I attended Lucy's course as an absolute beginner, and her friendliness and supportive approach ensured that I came away with both the skills to start working on my own, and a sculpture of my own that I'm really pleased with".
I have run stone carving workshops since 2007, and am insured and qualified as both a carver and a tutor.
